Zoom on the AGOA and the cetaceans of Martinique:
Created in 2012 in the French West Indies, AGOA is a marine protected area of over 143 000km² (see map). This sanctuary is dedicated to the protection of marine mammals and
their habitat. All our captains and crews are qualified and trained to practice reasoned observation of the cetaceans of the AGOA sanctuary.The objectives being in particular
to limit the disturbance of mammals and to contribute to the acquisition of knowledge.
21 species, sedentary or migrating, can be observed in Martinique: the dolphin pantropical spotted whale, bottlenose dolphin, Fraser's dolphin, electre dolphin, dolphin
Pilot whales, but also sperm whales, beaked whales and humpback whales migrations from December to April.
